    Randomness

Ok, I've not updated this for ages, so here goes. Anyway, I'm no longer doing computer support for college in my spare time - which means I (theoretically) have lots more spare time - strange then that I seem to struggle just as much to get things done as I ever did!

Anyway, I had an interview/assessment centre thingy last week, in Kendal, which  was a bit different from Oxford, to say the least - admittedly watching the snow fall outside (admittedly not very much) didn't increase our confidence of getting back that evening!

Right, I've finally got a livejournal, having noticed that my old diary hadn't been updated for ages and due to thinking that since I read some other people's livejournals, having a friends page would probably be quite useful.

Anyway, as a sort of mega update since the most recent entry there, I've been mostly working for college as an IT assistant, although I did take a week off to go cycling and France, and another week off to go home to look after the house (and all the animals). Anyway, I've now finished working until the last week of the vacation when I'll be back getting ready for the great influx of Freshers we're going to get who need their computers fixing (and undoubtedly a number of students who are infected with various computer viruses that will need disinfecting), so I am now back at home trying to understand more of the maths I did last year, and trying to attempt some pre course reading for next year.

The free server I got (see here) appears to be completely dead, I've got some ECC Ram for it off ebay, but it still refuses to believe it has any ram, so I don't know whether its the Ram at fault or the motherboard (I suspect the motherboard). I intend to buy a new Dual CPU motherboard from ebay at some point to get this machine up and running!

Also, over the bank holiday weekend I went to Greenbelt, which was certainly an excellent weekend, particular highlights included Kato and Quench on the musical side, and a great many thought provoking talks.
